If you have been to Gilcrease Museum in the last few years you have seen David Halpern's Photographs---some of which still hang in the back of Helmerich Hall above the stairway.

Tonight David will guide us through the process of curating a lifetime of Photographs, scanning film from the pre-digital age, and developing a Blurb book highlighting one image for each year from 1967 to 2020.  You don't want to miss this one!

David Halpern is a photographer living in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Tulsa Oklahoma. An experienced teacher of photography, in the classroom and in workshops, a prolific writer and a consultant on photographic issues, he has served twelve times as a National Park artist-in-residence—four times at Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado), twice each at Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah), Black Canyon of the Gunnison (Colorado) and Glacier National Park (Montana), once at Acadia National Park (Maine) and Bandelier National Monument (Oklahoma) where during 2014 and 2015 he helped create the park's artist-in-residence program and served as it's first participant. Since 1973, his photographs have been exhibited annually in museums and galleries across America, and he has been the recipient of numerous awards.
