Meetups and Socializing

PHOTOG event coordinators volunteer their time to create photographic adventures while sharing their knowledge and providing an atmosphere for hands on events so each person may experiment at their own pace.  Many of these meetups may include trips out of town for the weekend or perhaps just a walkabout at a local festival or downtown.  Each meetup is unique and offer a group of like minding people who are always willing to answer questions, share their knowledge.

EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS - Events - Theme of the Month

Our Library Sessions are the fourth Wednesday of each month at Hardesty Library in Tulsa-unless otherwise noted on our calendar. These educational sessions and meetings we learn about lighting, a critique of photos, a demonstration of photo software, guest speakers or something else entirely to educate and enhance your photography skills and knowledge.

PHOTOG Event Coordinators  provide hands on sessions each month. Visit our calendar here on site to register for a event.  These events may be walks through a park, downtown or maybe we will travel to the studio for some macro and flash photography work.  Sometimes we travel out of town to unique venues like Bosque Del Apache in New Mexico.  You never know what might show up on the calendar but you can be sure it will inspire you to get out and shoot.

Theme of the Month is a monthly blind contest. Blind meaning you do not know who entered what photo and you do not know who voted until the end of the Month.  Theme of the Month is geared to inspire and challenge you each month to get out and shoot!   At the end of the month each member in photog may rate the images bringing forth a First Place and Runner up from each Category of Advanced and Novice.  Those winning images at the end of the year are on display at Apertures Photo Gallery and offered for sale as matted prints.  Proceeds from this event benefit our annual Help Portrait at the end of the year.

Our members find ways to give back to our community by providing memories to many organizations.  Many of the events include the Cure Search Walk for life, American Therapeutic Riding Center, Bark for Life, Gold Rush Cure Walk, Assisted Living Centers and many more..

Our Annual Help Portrait Event

Help-Portrait is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. These portraits aren’t for a portfolio, website, or sale. It’s about giving people who otherwise couldn’t afford photography, a chance to capture a moment, a memory and a whole lot more. Since 2008 PHOTOG has participated in this worldwide event which takes place the first Saturday in December.  Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists using their time, tools and expertise to give back to those in need.   Through our Creative Concepts Gallery Show and Theme of the Month
participants our photographers winning photos are placed on display at a Gallery show, the proceeds from this show, along with portions of our memberships annual dues benefit our Help Portrait Project.
PHOTOG INC has provided over 813 family portraits through past recipients such as Children and Family Services, The Little Light House, Women in Recover, John 3:16 mission, CAP/Skelly , Sr Assisted Living Facilities and more

Oklahoma Heart Gallery
Oklahoma Heart Gallery -

The Heart Gallery of Oklahoma is a traveling photographic and audio exhibit created to find families for children in foster care. They are children who need a family...children who are facing challenges. Some of the finest Oklahoma Photographers, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Wendy's Wonderful Kids Foundation and NEWS Channel 8 have joined together to bring these young faces to the public.
Many PHOTOG members proudly participates in this event, if you are interested in volunteering and helping contact Gay Larson at
